“Competitive” is perhaps the word that describes Hannah best. But a series of sports-related concussions began to trouble her in college. Memory issues and other cognitive concerns became a challenge both on the court and in the classroom. As a college student in 2020, Hannah was excited when she was called to serve her LDS missionary journey. However, her mission trip soon turned into a four-month isolation in the hospital early in the COVID pandemic. Long COVID exacerbated Hannah’s already troubling cogntiive issues, and left her with a constant need for supplementary oxygen. After seeking numerous treatments to resolve both her cognitive challenges and her breathing issues, a doctor in Utah referred her to Aviv Clinics. There, the Aviv Medical Program not only helped Hannah breathe again but think clearly for the first time in years. Today, she is back in school and planning to resume her studies and pursue a career in medicine to help others.
