Suicide is like that: in an instant, it’s too late. Daily we’re at the 11th hour for too many veterans. But the sense of urgency on the part of the US Government is woeful. Even Congress has passed laws demanding ACTION to end the suicide epidemic, but one waits in vain for ACTION. Lest we forget: the suicide and opioid overdose rates among service members are at Epidemic proportions.

Murphy Accepts Hero Defender Award, Champions Veterans National Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment Act

Following his acceptance of the award, Congressman Murphy offered a speech in support of his bipartisan bill, H.R. 1014, the Veterans National Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment Act. If passed, H.R. 1014 would direct the Department of Veterans Affairs to create a pilot program for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to treat Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This important bill is part of Congressman Murphy’s longstanding effort to push meaningful legislation on behalf of the over 89,000 veterans in the Third District.

The latest iteration of the USAF suicide prevention training. (USAF VR) The thought is that Virtual Reality is a more effective intervention to get service members to help their battle buddies stop suicidal ideation and behavior. Traumatic Brain Injuries and PTSD and Post-Concussive Syndrome are behind too many suicides. Hoping for brain damage and deterioration to go away or somehow become more manageable is a recipe for more suicides. Treat brain wounds using Hyperbaric Oxygenation (HBOT) and other proven safe and effective therapies.

HBOT helps get Riders Back in the Saddle
